I just bought my first O/U. A beretta S55 from tradeex and am eagerly awaiting it's arrival. From the description of it it may possibly have stock issues as it is supposed to have a "Cheek pad glued on". On the left side of the stock from the pictures. I'm not into the gun much, and the value isn't going to be hurt so I want to pretty it up a bit. However, not surprisingly, i'm having issues finding parts for it. Specifically a stock and forearm set.
I wonder, does anyone know if the stock/forearm from the S55,56,57 will interchange? The profile where it meets the receiver looks exactly the same across the model range. For that matter I don't know what the differences are between them. I was thinking I would put new wood on it, have it hot blued over the winter and MAYBE gold plate the triggers. MAYBE. Don't be hatin', personal tatses.

Those guns are fairly old and the parts are no longer serviced by Beretta. They are not the same gun as the 680 series. You might try calling Randy Arndt in Wyoming at 307-857-0308. If you can get a hold of him, he can tell you all about those guns. He may have some parts.

it turns out it's not in bad shape at all. A bit of rubbing and it came to life quite nicely.

Double triggers, they will be less problematic than Berettas so called single "speed trigger".

Its a great shotgun. Whoever had it must have taken very good care of it as it is tight as can be. It is still a two hand and a leg opener, and the bores are mint. No pits or scratches at all. I have carried it three times this season and have been overall very happy with it thus far. I just got a brand new Red Label and like them both about equal.
