Beretta Stampede Deluxe ?

Stampede

I just received a 357 stampede with 51/2 in barrel as a gift. I think it is an excellent revolver, the grip felt a little small when I first picked it up but once I fired a few rounds it was fine.

I shot 50 rounds of 142 gr Fiocchi and everything went perfectly. I am not familiar with this cartridge but recoil was very mild, so either its a mild load or the balance of the revolver is extraordinary. I'll find out more when I load my own.

I really like the "antiqued" sort of iridescent blueing of the main frame.

Their semi's are great guns, so they probably make great SAA clones.

It sounds like their grips are close to the shape of the real Colts.

It was told to me by some cowboy action shooters that the pinky finger is supposed to sort of curl around under the base of the grip. So while it feels short to me the SAA grip is doing what it is supposed to do... according to those guys at least.

I've got a 5.5" Stampede. Fantastic SAA, perfect fit and finish and it points like a finger. It's a nasty recoiler with .357MAG ammo though...

On a side note, I don't think the SAA was designed with the principle of keeping your finger outside the trigger guard. After all, it can't go bang till you #### the hammer.

For me it's awkward trying to fit my finger through the guard without shifting my grip. Without a good grip, it doesn't point where I'm looking. Sorta' like mounting a shotgun that doesn't fit.

Yes the little finger does kind of naturally curl under.

I forgot to mention that the trigger is excellent as well, superb all round recreation of the original Colt.

I have one in 45LC great shooter and nice fit and feel, as close to the real thing as far as I'm concerned. I have the 7.5" barrel, this one is a keeper.

I shoot with a gentleman that has the more basic Stampede in both 347 and 45 Colt and they are really nice guns. The fit and finish are great and they shoot really well. Thye started making them after they bought out the Uberti compnay; they are very similar to the Ubertis except they have a trasnfer bar safety system in them kepping you safe with all 6 chambers loaded, while the Ubertis can be accidentally fied if bumped like the old Colts.
