beretta sv10 prevail 1 trap

I do have SV10 Prevail III sporting. not trap but same action and barrel without the ribs.
i have purchased it brand new and used it around 5000 rounds i believe, Still after 5000 rounds it was still tad stiff on ejecting and opening the action. The trigger is very crisp with easy to operate. You can adjust the pop off or lift off ejectors in seconds, just need to turn one small screw quarter way and bam.
The Kick off system was just ok.... not worth few hundred bucks and would rather recommand custom recoil system for same dollar value.
Id rate the sv10 9/10 only because the ejectors were little sticky and everything else was perfect.

i have few other berettas such as Urika 1-2, 302, A400's, SV10, UGB25 Trap, and few other field guns, I still choose to shoot AL391 trap rather than other 4000-6000g shot guns. I would say shoot it if you can find someone that has one or feel it before you buy the shotgun.
good luck!

I handled an SV-10 but I don't know exactly which model. Shot with it at the Beretta open house at the Oshawa gun club a couple months ago - shot 5 stand.

I found it shot fine but not better than my 686E Sporting. I prefer my 686E Sporting - not sure I could have put a finger on why. I certainly didn't feel the extra $ or the Kick-Off system was worthwhile. It is quite a price difference best I can tell. Maybe someone more knowledgeable could justify the priced difference on other stuff. I've only ever shot target loads in 12G and don't really feel the recoil at all - certainly does not bother me even after 150-200 rounds. I am neither particularly physically fit, nor a big guy. I do have a damn good skeet coach who has spent time with me on gun fit, proper shooting position etc.

I would personally rather spend the money getting a 686E Sporting and paying a good gunsmith to do a custom adjustable stock for me. Cost me $350 and I think it is fantastic. I suspect a lot of problems people have with recoil may be the gun not fitting them right to begin with. I know I have shot an O/U before that did not fit me right and the thing kept slapping me in the cheek.

I like the fact that the SV-10 allows you the option to pick between ejector and extractor mode but with some experience I can cover my chamber as I break the gun to prevent the shells from being ejected.

Just my $0.02 and to be taken with a grain of salt considering I am quite new.
