Done a search and found only a couple older posts about the Beretta SV10 Prevail Sporting. Does anyone have any comments about these now; is the Kick Off worth the money?

I dont have any experience with the Prevail, but i have used other Berettas with the Kick-off. I find it to be the most irritating thing on the face, does a great job at reducing felt recoil, but removes the skin from your cheek while doing it.

There is more than one version of the Kick-Off. With the version on my Xtreme Unico, the stock only moves in front of your cheek, so there is no abrasion to your face.

Shot one today as well as a 682 Gold E, both with 30" barrels. The Prevail kickoff stock movement was not noticeable to me using light target loads (1 1/8 shot over 2 3/4 dram). I only shot a few boxes, but the Prevail felt lighter than the 682, yet the recoil felt softer. I imagine the difference would really be noticeable after a flat of shells.

The Prevail has very lively handling and is worth taking a look, especially when Beretta does a demo day.

I recently purchased one of these after shooting a browning citori for 3 years. The one I have has 32 inch barrels,I find the gun very smooth to shoot, quick and less felt recoil. The sporting clays ccourse I shoot on is a hunters couurse with a lot of close targets. I thought the 32 inch barrels might be a problem, but not at all. I am finding this gun a lot fun to shoot. If you get a chance to try one of these go for it.

I have noticed that, but I have not tried it, and it is not available on the prevail. If they could figure out how to do it on an O/U without making it look terrible, it might then be worth a look, but until such a time, i will stick by my original comment on that it rips my face to shreds

What gun and loads did you use?

The Kick-Off is something you really need to try before buying one. Some people love them. Others hate them including me.

Interesting. I've shot the A400 Xcel with KO and did not notice it moving using similar loads. I guess it all comes down to personal preference.
for guns with kick-off, i have tried the A400 XCEL and A400 XPLOR Action, as for guns without the kick-off, i have tried the 682 gold E Trap, 686 White Onyx and the A400 XCEL.
And for load, I was using 3 dram #7.5 Challenger 1 1/8 oz.

A400 unico with kickoff - shooting target loads (waste of money) save your money and put on a limbsaver/kickeez pad.
A400 Xtreme with kickoff - shooting 3.5" shells (money well spent)

The prevail comes with and without kick off, same as the Perennia which is the Field version of the same model.
I have had the Perennia III, which was a beautiful piece and sold it to someone in this forum. I didn't like the gun, never bond with it and kicked like a freaking mule (mine didn't have the kick off). Recoil was so bad that my cheek would be sore for days after shooting 3 rounds of skeet.
Sold it and bought an Urika 2, love it.

I purchased a sv10 prevail III in March. So far I've probably put 500 through the gun. I chose the model without the kickoff as I'm using only trap loads and when I tried a A400 with the kickoff, it felt too spongy for me. Anyway, I just shot my first ATA trap competition today and experience two failure to eject. Not sure if this is the dreaded ejection problem other owners have posted on the net. However, given the bad weather today, I hope this is only an isolated incident. I'm still loving the gun. It 'seems' to fit but that's based on my limited knowledge of shotguns. I'll let you know if this problem persists. BTW, I won my division. :)
