Anyone here ever tried one out?

UGB25.jpg

It is a very soft shooting gun! In many areas, two shot automatics are the norm. It is also a very safe gun, since you can see if there is another shell that can be loaded. I have shot it and found it very soft to shoot! It is a lot of CDN $$$!

Best regards,
Henry;)

Thanks Henry. I was looking at it from the soft shooting angle. I've shot a lot of trap with semi-autos because they have a lower felt recoil. This UGB25 looks likeit barely recoils if you watch the videos on their site and the fact it breaks makes it easier for others to see it's clear.

I like it. Might have to bite the bullet.....

I haven't shot one yet, but I am hoping that is not the case by next week. I ordered one months ago, and it is apparently in the area, so maybe I will see it tomorrow. I have talked to a couple of guys that have shot them and loved it. Is very soft shooting according to them. The one guy who shot it told me the biggest problem will be having to show it to everyone, and explaining what it is because it is so different. What are the prices of the UGB25 in different areas?
I am not going to post the price I am purchasing for, because it was a great deal due to the conditions I purchased it.
I know Epps has one for $4395

I have shot one. A fella at my club has one. It is really nice, very low recoil, mounts exceptionally well. My concern would be all those moving parts. How long will it last ??

Well my UGB25 finally arrived this week. I took it to the club tonight an put 100 rounds through it on the trap range. It shot awesome, recoil is very managable, points very well, swings nice. You can hear or "feel" the action following the shot, but this is probably noticable on all semi's. I haven't shot any other semi's in years so I am not used to this yet. The empties are piled up out in front of you when you are finished. I personally really enjoy shooting it. I have read several posts on this site and others about the problems this gun will have, and I really don't see it. The moving parts seem well manufactured, they are very easily removed for cleaning and inspection. The entire action can be removed in less than 30 seconds. Like I have stated I haven't shot or owned another semi in a very long time, but it would seem to me that any semi would have a lot of moving parts. In my opinion there really isn't that many parts in the UGB, the action seems to be fairly basic in operation. Time will tell I guess. I will likely put 2500-3500 rounds through it this trap season so I will see for myself. As for my first impression though, two thumbs up.

I love this gun... I wish I had the extra cash to buy one. The only thing I don't like is you can't catch the hulls because of how the gun expels the empties. I reload for practice, but shot factories when in competition. Bending over to pick up 5 shells every station might be frowned upon.

How is the grouping of the empties? I would imagine they would be sitting there in a nice pile.

How is the break action with the leaver on the side to operate compared to a traditional break?

As for the people who are worried about the "too many parts" objection. Lets not forget that Beretta 500 years of engineering experience. If there was a company that could pull off making a gun like this its them. Next time you look at a Beretta hand gun, check to see how many working parts that has.

Thank you Win/64 - in fact thats why I joined CGN initially, but I still haven't been granted access to the section. Its still locked up for me even though I sent a request 3 days ago. One of the moderators said a couple of days.

Is there a way I can see this listing? Or, do you know the person that listed it?

I'm interested in buying one.

After todays shoot, I have pounded 750 rounds through mine in a little over 2 weeks. Still loving it. :D I love the adjustablility to it, I'm sure you could set this thing up to fit almost anyone. It is very nice to shoot, its seems to get smoother as more rounds go through it. I have read it takes a thousand rounds to break it it? I should pass that next week sometime.

They are a very soft shooting auto. The fastest cycling gun I have witnessed to date. I have one for a great price on the EE as Win/64 mentioned. I like the gun so much, that if it had a release trigger in it, it wouldn't be for sale.. Get it before its gone!!

Different things attribute to a flinch, not just from recoil, my hiccup is visually not seeing the target properly. One part of your brain is telling you to pull the trigger, but the other is saying no don't pull, you're not locked on the target, and that is another part of what causes a flinch. Usually Visual and or Recoil...And yes the UGB is a soft shooter. Once a target shooter starts to shoot a release trigger, it's hard to make the transistion back to pull..

Yup, you're screwed ! :)

The "Uggies" are very soft shooting. The one I tried had exceptionally nice wood and it wasn't at all hard to adapt to it's mechanics. Bottom ejection is a plus for Trap and reportedly, they're very easy for the lefties to shoot. Nice wide rib too !

The only thing I found a bit disconcerting was the overall width of the receiver... but I'm sure I could warm-up to it.
