Beretta92 mags fit Bretta 92FS

just like the title say will mags from a Beretta 92 fit a Beretta 92FS

Beretta mags are as such...

All 92 series...9mm mags all fit including CX4 storm 9mm

All 96 series...40S&W all mags fit including CX4 storm 40sw

I believe the original 92s have a heel mag release. Therefore, the mag catch slot would probably need to be tweak to fit in the 92fs' "Amercian style" side mag release.

The question isn't as daft as it sounds. The origional 92 had the funky Beretta type of mag catch located at the bottom rear of the left grip panel. You'll notice most factory 92 mags still have a cut out in that spot. Anyone with a Beretta 950 will know the style I'm talking about.

JB, if the mags in your hand have the cut outs on either side on the front of the mag towards the middle, they will fit in a 92fs. If they don't, forgetaboutit

as Canuck said, the older mags (pre FS) had only the heal release cuts. But like mentioned, if you have mags and they have the cuts up higher on both sides, then they will work in any of the current 92's.

it's been my experience the supply problem is the other way round- the 92 and 92sb with the heel catch are getting hard to come by, the ones with the triggerguard are far more common- i got one from usa magazines that had both- look at it this way, if it's got the heel catch hole and you don't use it, you've got a drain hole-

Original 92 mags are pretty rare, can't remember the last time I came across one. You can put 92FS mags in a 92 but not the other way around.

Not a bad question. I bought a Hogue rubber wrap-around grip with finger grooves for a Beretta 92fs; only to find out that it does not fit my Beretta 92fs Vertec. So now I have a grip for a Beretta for sale.

It actually does fit. You just need to use a razor blade to slowly slice off the extra rubber at the end of the grip near the backstrap. Many members over at the Berettaforum have done this and it'll only take you 15 minutes to do.
