Howdy,

I sold off my 22 pistols a bit ago on the plan of buying better ones when I was shooting more. I was out at the rnage today and had a gentleman tell me I was much better off buying a 22 conversion kit for my Beretta 92F instead of buying a new gun; his reason was that it got you comfortable with the lower you had.

I agree that this is a good idea, but I am now wondering where to get one. I have found them made by both Ceiner and Beretta in the states, but I am unsure who would sell them on this side. Does anyone here know where to get one and how much they for over here?

I ordered A Beretta .22 kit for my 92FS from Ellwood Epps in Orilla (www.ellwoodepps.com) about 2 years ago. Bought it so I could pratice with cheap ammo. It's nice to have two firearms with the same grip.:D

I think it was around $500-$600. Had to wait 6 months for it, well worth the wait. It works great, some times a little tricky to assemble but I'm glad I have it.

My shooting buddy also bought a .22lr conversion kit for his 92FS at Epps.
He paid $399 for a "lightly" used kit that looked new. It came in the original Beretta plastic case with everything intact. I was amazed how easy it was to convert the bbls back and forth.
 
I've a 92FS and a 92 Practise Kit conversion unit. It is not as accurate as a dedicated .22, in fact just about any .22 will out shoot it. I expect two inch groups at 10 to 15 metres. For IPSC training however, it's great. The Beretta unit has a functional safety, LPA adjustable rear sights and will work in a standard Beretta holster. I highly recommend it.
