Just had to say...

Grabbed one of these last week, (sort of a middle finger to the Trudoooooooh liberals). Anyway, put a vortex scope on it, and a cheap absolutely no-name bipod.. 3 shots to zero, and then literally sub moa, "as advertised". I grabbed a couple of the 50 round boxes of Hornady American Gunner ammo, so nothing over the top in accuracy, and I just cannot believe how consistent it was.

I cleaned the bore after the first couple of shots, and after the 10th or so, brush boresnake and a patch. Flawless. I tried the MDT mags for my MDT .308 savage build, and they worked perfectly (although the Pmag that came with this doesn't work in the MDT). Did groups of 3 shots at 100m, and all were inside the 1" dots. I did not take pics as I really didn't expect a whole lot from the first day out, I thought I would have to tweak things, but WOW.

Came home and checked the trigger, it's set at exactly 3.5 pounds. I'm told it is a tricked out remington 700 at heart, and I have never owned a 700. They're not cheap, although they are comparable in price to the gunsite scout (which I never really cared for, for whatever reason).

I went to the effort of building a full chassis around a 10TR in .308 with $$$ bipod and a higher power scope, monopod, the whole nine yards and I still have the occasional flier with that rig. I don't normally blather on about a new gun, but it's so surprising when the claim "All B-14 rifles are capable of producing sub-1.0 MOA groups or less at 100 yards using factory match grade ammunition" is actually true. Toally thrilled when I thought it would be just another rifle in the rack. I'm toying with getting the .308 version and selling my chassis rig, I like it that much.

(I don't work for bergara or a gun store, this is just a statement of opinion :))

I’m have been considering one in 6.5 for a while now, anything you don’t like about it?. Thanks for the helpful review!!!

If I was super critical, I guess I would say I don't really care for the setup of the cheek riser locking system, the riser can just come loose and fall out if not locked down, but that's a pretty minor complaint. It's a heavy rig, so I wouldn't want to be carting it around the woods or anything like that, but I don't think that's the intention of the B-14. It's fairly new to me, so I may come across something that isn't quite right, but so far, it seems a hell of a rifle.

I was looking at these also, keep us imformed on how it does. Are you going to reload for it?

Yes, just trying to find powder. I have Varget, but it might not be best. I plan to test a few loads side-by-side with the factory hornady that shot well, and see if I can improve on it.

I'd love to hear how this goes for you as I was looking at this particular exact same option, please update whenever you have a little more info!

I have one as well, it is definitely better than anything Remington is currently offering. I am typically a Tikka fan, currently owning three of them and I would say the Bergara is similar in quality to the Tikkas, smooth bolt, great trigger, good ergonomics on the stock, and muzzle brake ready. I have the Heathen from Insite Arms and it does a wonderful job, that little 6.5 CM feels like my 222! The advantage that the Bergara has over the Tikka is the stock is much better, but I do love the CTR magazine better so it is a toss up.

I shot the same ammo through mine and it was under one MOA as well, out of five groups of five rounds each only one went over the one MOA mark and that was totally on me.

So I took it out with reloads, I tried varget and H4350. I ran 136gr hornady fmj bullets, cci large rifle primers, and hornady (new) brass.

I didn't load to the max on the hogdon site, I went with 38.5g of H4350.

Results were a MUCH hotter round than the hornady american 'bulk'. Placed about an inch higher at 50y. So dialed it in, then took it out to 100 and 200. Same results, sub moa at 100, and I think I was under 2" at 200. Oddly enough, there was almost no drop out to 200 yards.

So I did have a chat with the long range expert at the local shop, and he did confirm that the 6.5 barrels are good for ~2,000-3,000 rounds before they lose accuracy. The hotter the round, the sooner. He thought it would be about $1000 to re-barrel it properly once it goes. So this is not the daily driver that say a savage or a 10/22 would be. So I will likely dial back the powder load off (considering I can only shoot out to a max 200y where I am currently), but the gun itself is a champ. If they sold a .223 (and I haven't found one yet) I would grab it, and because of the success I'm having with this, I am looking to swap my savage .223 for a tikka or something nicer too. This gun spoils the shooter :)

It appears the new HMR Pro from Bergara will be available in .223!

Bergara

Had a chance recently to have a good look at the Bergara line of rifles.
VERY nice looking gear!
I am told by those wha have no reason to lie, and who have shot them extensively, that their accuracy claims are founded in fact.
There goes the budget, which unfortunately at my house, does not balance itself.
