You should actually get better than 3000 unless you are using a really short barrel...
But, sometimes they do stabilize at higher velocities, but at the same time, one of my shooting compatriots was using them in a 6-22-250 ackley, and he got key holing in a 7.5twist. I have watched this topic on 6mmbr.com and Robert Whitley feels they can be stabilized with a 1:8. I tried them in a 6-47 Lapua in a 1:8 and got poor accuracy, but no key-holing. Too many possible explanations to rule this as a stability issue.
I think with the higher velocities they will work in a 1:8.
