The New Hrn 338 285gr BTHP is working well for a number of shooters and I have a bit left.

We have fired the 285 Hornady factory load...it is very, very good.
 
you want to be sure of your twist before going to the 300 grain- my browning has a 1/12 and won't do it- it'll prpbably do the 285's though, same as the 275 speers which i know work
 
I'm running a 1/9 I'll be fine I'm not looking for recommendations just someone who has these or can get me these bullets to try. Thanks
 
Good luck, I have had a few on backorder since october. Eric Stecker (berger bullets) is on Longrangehunting fairly often, he indicated it may be a while yet till the backorders for them are filled. I would suspect that Canadian buyers would be low on the list as well.

There are a few threads on that forum on the new bullets, sounds like they are working out well so far. I can push the gen 1 into nose slump with my edge AI, so I am looking forward to trying a few gen 2. The accuracy I get with the gen 1 is great, and I hope the gen 2 flies well out of my rifle.

PS If anyone has some gen 1 they want to part with I am buying..
