Berger hybrid 168gr in the 308

Project time for the ruger scout 16"

My rifle loves the m118 special ball but it's not the easiest to find.
Now being that it is Cold as Fack out I started running Data on applied ballistics. So if I go lol

Anyone have any history with the hybrid ? And short barrelled 308?

Depending on what you mean by short barrel I have some experience running them through a 20 inch bolt gun (Rem 5R 308) and had good results with them out to about 400-500 yards beyond that they got a little screwy on me but still acceptable for government work. Inside of 300 yards they were laser beams with some Varget (sorry can't recall exact measure but I think around 43 grains ballpark) stuffed into Lapua brass.

I am going to start with varget.

From my days of 20" 308 I found the 175smk and Imr 4895 was hard to beat.
