Quick question for you red rifle experts out there. Were Berkut rifles ever imported into Canada, or are they unobtanium? If they were, were they non-restricted or prohibited at some point?

Thanks!

No they never were. I don't believe any made it into the USA either even though they were allowed. At least not by an importer - some may have been brought as personal firearms.

That said it is currently importable into the USA if you can find one outside Russia and it has been there for at least 5 years.

If you wanted to import into Canada it would likely need to go to the lab even if it's a one-off import but based on what I know of the internals it will probably be approved eventually... You'd need to start with a request to the lab to create a FRT entry. Not sure if regular people can still do that but if you need help, PM me, I'm a verifier.

What do you mean by some may have been brought as personal firearms into Canada?

Some may have been brought as personal firearms into the USA - sorry for the confusion.

Personal firearms in the USA do not get engraved with importer info.
