Berreta 92 feeding issues

I have 92 that has recently decided not to feed very well. I was using UMC ammo as I thought it might be my reloads and it still didn't work well. It used to work well.

Any suggestions?
 
I have rarely heard of a Beretta 92 not feeding. The only time it's happened to me is when I used underpowered reloads. Are you using factory magazines?
 
I didn't work with factory rounds either. I am using factory mags, one is worn so bad it won't keep the empty pistol open. I switched to the other mag. I can't recall if thats when my problem started or not. I have used the reloads before and they worked quite well. It doesn't appear to close all the way. Do you think it could be the mag?
 
If the mags and/or ammo are not the culprit(s), make sure the gun is oiled. The only time I have ever had one of my many Beretta 92's not function perfectly was when the gun was almost dry.
 
Feeding issues are mag or ammo related.
"...doesn't appear to close all the way..." That's usually caused by improperly loaded ammo or a very dirty pistol. Give it a bath first, then look at the mag. Since it's not feeding properly with factory ammo, it's most likely the mag.
 
Thanks guys I will take your advise and give it a go. I suspect the mag advise might be the issue. It isn't dirty and it does the same thing with factory ammo.

Does anyone know where I can get mags for this in Canada? I can get them in the states if I can get them across the border. Like to support the above sponsors if I can anyway. This site is full of great information and people that are willing to share knowledge and I would hate to see it go away.
 
!st thing I would do is drop some of your ammo in the chamber and see
if it drops all the way in or not without any force on it, if not your ammo
( reloads) are the problem or front of the chamber is built up some with
carbon/lead, can't always see it , 22 rf is bad for this.
Sound like you had better buy some good mags.
 
Disassemble your crappy mag which won't keep the slide open, and stretch the mag spring full-length (be careful not to over-stretch and snap it). If it keeps the slide open after reassembly, then fill 'er up and see if it solves the problem.

If the rounds aren't being fed "promptly" by a lagging spring, that'll kill you every time. Just ask the boys in the 'ghan right now who're stuck with ####ty Browning Hi-Power mags made around the time Josef Stalin was dirtying his diapers.

Sorry, I just checked this post tonight,
What I am referring to is 22 rim fire .
You get a biuld up of lead, wax, carbon
in the camber and you will end you with light
primer stricks, not usally a problem with center fire,
but I have run into it and also reloads that are swelled
some from the reloading press can have the same effect.

Thanks for clarifing that marshall. I should have probably figured that out myself. I didn't realize that is a problem with rimfires. I will check out my 22 autos for this issue.
