Bersa Pistols

Aye, there's the rub. I'm mighty tempted to buy a Thunder 9, but I want to handle it first, and I've yet to see one in the flesh. Tactical Imports is selling direct and other dealers seem reluctant to get involved.
They look good, but fit is everything.

I used to shoot a Browning Hi-Power 20+ years ago, and always liked the fit of it. So I bought a Bersa based on the recommendation of a friend who has shot both and lo and behold, it kind of reminds me of the old Browning. Similar grip shape and size, but you get better controls and DA/SA. The trigger feels very nice. Haven't had a chance to take it to the range though. One issue - the day after it was delivered I had the time to start cleaning off the oil and noticed a small defect in the slide serration on the left side. Looks like a small chunk got missed in one of the grooves when they were machining it. I could overlook flaws in a used pistol or a really cheap firearm, but this is brand new.

I reached out to Tactical Imports via email and they offered to replace it, but left me no details on how that process would work (where to ship it, who pays for that shipping, who changes out the transfer request that's already underway with the CFO, etc.) and I've now not heard back in a day and a half and despite leaving a voicemail on top of the email, no response from that either. I know it's a small operation, and I appreciate that they said they'd correct the issue, but I can't say I'm impressed with the speed of communication or detail. Hopefully I can get it resolved ASAP, as I'm anxious to get the paperwork cleared on a replacement and start running some rounds through it.

Give them a couple more days to get to you. They've been very good to me when my Skorpion was jamming.

Tactical Imports takes care of their customers when it comes to warrantee. They were very good to me when I needed service.

Thanks for the feedback - I don't doubt that Nick will help me out with this. Machining defect aside, the pistol is excellent, and I'm just keen to be able to get one to the range.

I had a Bersa Thunder 9. It was a great pistol, very good trigger, accurate and trouble free. Wish I still had it.

I'm also interested in the Bersa.
I have noticed the frame is aluminium. Is it going to be as durable as a steel framed pistol, like say the CZ SP01 shadow?

I hope so. I emailed them and told them I would be there in early June. They have an address on Winston Churchill Blvd in Mississauga

Tactical Import have a premium service, had a problem with a Hendzolt red dot, no hassle, they changed it for a new one very fast, my Bersa is awsome but if i have a problem i feel very secure with TI... JP.

Pistol is on its way back to TI. Hopefully its replacement will be without issue.

On a side note, any Bersa owners have rattle issues with the magazines when fully loaded to ten rounds? I've read this happens on lots of different firearms, but all of the mags I tested (the one that came with the pistol and the three spares I bought) all had rattles located on the one or two rounds closest to the bottom of the magazine (or so it sounds). They also all stopped when one or two rounds were removed (8 rounds loaded). Hoping it's a break-in issue with the mags.

Got my replacement pistol today (actually, it arrived two days ago, but I could not get to the post office until today). This one looks just fine - no machining issues or anything at all. Thanks again to Nick and his team for resolving this, it's much appreciated. Looking forward to getting some rounds through it soon.
