Best 10/22 ammo?

Most .22's are fussy as to which brand of ammo they prefer as far as feeding and also accuracy.

The best thing to do is try some different ones & stay with the one that works best.

Federal Bulk packs are good plinking ammo and work well enough on gophers. Yellow jackets are petty reliable as are Power Points. PPs were the most accurate when I had mine scoped. Since I went to irons it's been all federal

I have a 10/22 stainless target model. I tried 18 types of lr ammo. Mine likes the American Eagle 38 gr the best...and not one misfire!! (40 rounds per box part # AE22) Federal gameshock 38 gr part #712 come in second. I shoot 100 m with mine. My wife has a "regular carbine " 10/22 stainless and hers performs with the gameshocks. Blasers, winchester wildcats, stingers don't do as well. Like I said I tried 18 different types. Hope this helps.

are the cci stingers not the fastest little piece of lead out there? with that in mind shouldent they work the best? afterall doesnt it take a mighty chemical reaction to throw a 32 grain piece of lead down a barrel 400 fps faster than most?

if i am somehow off the mark please set me straight

The trade off is that the bullet is lighter than most others (32gr vs the 40gr of most others). As far as them being the fastest, they may well be according to the box but you cannot argue with the millions of gophers shot dead with standard 36-40gr high velocity hollowpoints. Besides, what good is an extra 100fps if the ammo doesn't shoot worth shiit in your rifle?
