Best 10/22 mag?

Ruger BX-25 is apparantly better than any other aftermarket mag

yes but good luck finding it here.. The butler creek steel lips work really well... the hot lips work too but they get destroyed if you use the speed loader..

The original 10 rounds never jam or almost any after marquet or 25 or 30 or 50 will have failure more often... that what i found now i am back to the 11 bullets set up it is very reliable i just carry 5 magazines in my pockets... JP.

Dido for the Butler creek steel lips. I have 3 of them and they work great.

I would love to get my hands on a BX-25

best 10/22 mag

I have found that the best after market magazine is the Butler Creek, steel lip
25 rounder. Having lots of trouble with the 50 rnd Black Dog Magazines I just received.

I have used em all except the bx 25's which according to PandD are prohibited devices as they are advertised for use in the charger pistol.

Best mags by far are the factory rotary mags!

Second for me is the BC steel lips which is what I have been using with almost flawless performance for the last couple years. Only ever had 1 issue with a brand new one which was binding inside not puting enough spring pressure on the first couple rounds but after a few loadings it smoothed out and works just like the rest.

Now some will argue that the tactical innovations mags are the best as they can be adjusted for feed angle and taken apart but I found myself frustrated as hell with them. I found myself having to adjust them constantly and dickin around trying to get em to work right. Not worth all the hassle when my Butler Creeks worked flawlessy and never needed a cleaning. Just solutions to problems that don't exist if you ask me!

I have been using the same 2 BC mags for 2 years and they work perfectly and rarely ever see a missfeed. I could count them on my hands in the last couple years. Even the one that gave initial problems has become just as reliable.

Go buy the Butler Creek Steel Lips and have fun.

I've heard this from multiple sources, looks like we might not see the ruger mags here.... and if we ever do, they might need to be pinned.... what a waste.

Also, there might be issues with the first run mags

I just received two 32rnd promags, put about 600 rnds through them yesterday. One would not load fully at first and had feeding issues. After a few loads that started to go away. The other one loaded fully right away but both were having problems with the first and last rounds. All in all I only had about 8 FTF/FTE. Some of it was ammo as I was having problems with the same ammo in my bolt gun. So far I am happy and am told they need a break in period. Coming from 10 rnd mags the fun factor more than tripled. That plus the Archangel kit.

i did some looking into the Butler Creek Mags before i purchased one for my sr. I know only one is a little disappointing but you empty those mags so fast youd rather spend the coin on brass then more mags. I havent had any issues whatsoever with my mag. It is the steel lips. Id definetely go for steel lips over hot lips anyday. The mag does tend to wiggle a little bit in my receiver. Ive heard a little bit of tape over the tape takes care of that issue. I havent done it yet I never get around to it and I dont notice when I shoot that it wiggles either. Ive heard also that some mags only take a certain amount of rounds and then theres issues with the spring and feeding and what not all. But I can load 25 into with no problems. Hopefully this helps. And im pretty sure everyone out there who owns a 10/22 would love to get there hands on the new ruger bx 25 mag.

I think sometimes it is the luck of the draw. I have a couple or three of BC steel lipped, a couple BC ordinary, and a couple of ugly old Eagle 30 rounders, and another one, a Ramline. They all work fine in my stock 10/22. I use a BC speed loader to load the BC mags, and load the old Eagles by hand. I have a Shooters Ridge speed loader as well, and it works just fine. I don't recall if I tried the Eagle mags with the Shooters Ridge loader. I'll have to try it.

I pumped about 1000 rounds out last week, using whichever mag came out of the bag. I had the odd stoppage, caused mostly by improper loading in the first place. I noticed that the world didn't come to an end!:p

BC Steel lips here... Unlike some of the other posters the stock Ruger 10 rounders were nothing but trouble. One's jammed outright, and the other only works properly if you load 9 or less

I couldnt get the T.I. mags to feed 25 rounds reliably, let alone get 25 rds in before they piled up inside and jammed everything. The set screws had random resistance on the threads, some were loose enough to turn with my fingers. Luckily Paul the SKSMAN was happy to give me a refund for the $130 US I spent on those contraptions. I got 2 32 rd promags from Jerry that ran flawlessly but now I prefer the new Shooters Ridge 30 rd. double stack mags. Every bit as reliable but far more compact, without the banana look. IMO they look perfect under a carbine. Tried a hot lips, cleared more jams than rounds fired. YMMV

I have to agree with l1ifel1ne up there. I used a 10 round rotary mag in my sr setting in (used a bench rest thought the banana clip would be bouncing off the table but it didnt) and i had nothing but problems with that thing. We use those same mags in my buddies 10/22 carbine and we had on average one or two jams per clip. It doesnt seem like alot to some and to other its way to many. Its a pain in the nuts diggin out spent brass all day.
