Best 115gr HS-6 Load?

Hey all,

Just putting otgether my first box of 9mm. Im using 115gr TMJ in federal casings with CCI no. 500 primers. I'm using HS6 for powder. Can anyone give me their best recipe for powder volume/bullet seating? I'm shooting out of a
P226R.

Go to the Hodgdon reloading site sticky at the top of the page and look up your load. It will give you start and max loads. Make up some test loads and your pistol will tell you what it likes.
 
Why HS-6? Unless you're loading very hot rounds, it's going to be very dirty. Try titegroup for a bit more versatility.

Edit: If you're really bent on using HS-6, use 6.9gr for a 115gr bullet.
 
HS6 is for 44 mag

Currently I am casting a LEE 125grain lead bullet. Using my favourite powder, PROMO, my Dillon drops 3.5 or 3.6 grain for a very nice target load.
I use HS6 for 44 mag [3/4 loads] but HS6 is not very efficient in 9mm. I suggest you go to a faster burning powder. While you must juice up the load a bit because of the lighter bullet, even BullsEye or TiteGroup will do. Save the HS6 for mag loads in 357 mag or 44 mag....
