Best 14.5" AR15

Hello gunnutz,

can you recommend me a high quality AR15 model/brand with a 14.5 barre,carbine gas system and no front sight. daniel defense is my go to brand but i can not find any models that fit my needs. suggestions?

Try Wolverine. They have DD 14.5 carbine barrels in stock, they may have an upper or a rifle.

Thanks guys I should add I am looking for a complete rifle with DI. Prefer a company that makes rifles for le/military with a proven track record. Something I can trust my life to! A knights would be great but damn that's so much more $ over other brands. Looking to sell off my norcs and nea for one rifle to rule them all!

Here is my 14.5 LMT. I added the troy 13" rail, the acog and a lot of smalls upgrades. I'm very happy with it after almost 1.5years

I have the 11.5 Knights and they are absolutely fabulous rifles. Extremely well built and nicely balanced. They are definitely a bit pricier, but well worth it in the long run.

all the rifles posted in here have been very nice! i think my choice is going to be the Daniel defense M4 V4. i do not know why it was so hard to find info on a 14.5" carbine length made by DD. anyone own one of these or see them in stock?

I think DDM4-14.5"s are uncommon is because DD mostly makes there RIFLES for the US civilian mark, and the rifles must have a minimum barrel length to the US equivalent of unrestricted. Than and maybe there are different permits/licenses/etc needed to export NFA (short barrelled firearms, etc) items.

But don't quote me on that. I DON'T KNOW! That's JUST a guess.

Buy a rifle you like, buy a DD 14.5 Barrel from wolverine and Swap them out and sell the take off Barrel on the EE. Hell even do a complete build which may be easier than finding a gun if you want something specific. I just finished a 14.5 using a DD barrel and LMT BCG

how do you like the DD 14.5 barrel? i have very little free time and im hoping to just get a complete rifle and hit the range. i have been busy swapping parts and messing around with my previous AR's and just want an out of box masterpiece lol. the issues with the lack of DD 14.5 info is definitely because they are not popular due to the stupid NFA

I am just sighting it in now, and with my plinking loads I am cutting one hole at 50yds. Hundred yard is closed for repairs but they should be done by mid week, but I like it a lot so far. You won't go wrong with anything DD

If I buy an upper for an example LMT upper, will it fits to any DI or piston rifle, or will it fits only to LMT lower?

Does buying an upper consider like buying a complete restricted rifle? (you have to register and transfer)
Does buying a lower consider like buying a complete restricted rifle?

I have a 16" piston AR-15 Sig 516, and I haven't seen a complete upper of 14.5" Sig, and I am thinking about replacing the barrel to 14.5" barrel.
