I'm interested in a 1911 for my next pistol. Cost not being an issue, who makes the best 1911? Some people have put me onto Infinity but I dont want to wait >1 year if possible... Thoughts?

Les Baer, Ed Brown, Nighthawk Custom, Wilson Combat, Colt.
A few dealers carry them, I know for sure Wanstals can help you.

If money wasn't a concern, I'd get a Les Baer in a heart beat. Probably a Monolith because omg look at it. JUST LOOK AT IT.

I'd go with a Wilson Combat in a heartbeat if money wasn't an issue... Sadly money is an issue, so that'll be a job for later

What do you plan on doing with it?
That's an important question to answer properly.

Of those I picked Ed Brown. He seems to put more importance on reliability than the others.
If the price didn't count I'd try a left-handed Cabot guns 1911.

Good lord those Wilson ones look purdy. Use? Maybe show off at the range once in a blue moon, but mostly a just to have an ultimate 1911 to keep in near mint condition. The Cabot National Standard is also jaw-dropping...

Perhaps not the best, but I picked up a Les Baer Ultimate Tactical Carry on the EE. It is a thing of beauty. Love the beautiful rosewood grips with the blueing. And to think I never thought I liked a blued pistol! This guy is for keeps. The price off EE for an unused one was really not much more than what a Kimber Gold Match was going to cost me (about $300 more).

Hope to shoot it for the first time tomorrow.
