I am getting geared up for my Black Badge course and some eventual 3-gun and IPSC/IPDA competitions. Going to start off with my SR1911 which I have 1 7-round and 4 8-round mags for. I have a Safariland holster and a Double Alpha Competition belt on the way. What is the best 1911 single stack mag pouch and where in Canada is the cheapest place to get them? And if not the best, what other brand would be a better value? Thanks.

I did look at the Double Alpha ones, I think I would prefer something a bit more traditional. The CR Speed Versa pouch looks good, thanks.

Just stumbled upon the Blade Tech Quad Mag Pouch. Would that be a bad idea? It would save more room on the belt for AR mag pouches and shell carriers.

i am hoping someone comes out with a belt that has magnets on it that i can just stick the mags to the outside of. that would be sweet for comp.

Double Alpha makes magnetic mag holders. The down side to magnetic holders are that they dont hold the mag at a particular angle.

Personally speaking, I think the quad pouch would stick out too far, someone else may not think so.

I think the regulation is it can't stick out more than 50 mm from your torso. I 3D printed some pouches and the first batch were too big with stripper rounds on the outside.

this is the thing i am talking about. just have a strip like this on your vest or hung down from a belt of something.

I like that, but $53 a pop in Canada... ouch! I'm probably going to go with a pair of the Blade-Tech double mag pouches for about half the price in total.

I hear ya..... I find for me, that kind of thinking costs more, you buy the less expensive now, and then buy what you really want later lol
