I have seen a few threads on "best $100 scope" general consensus is there in none... I have a $100 Canadian Tire scope and can attest to that I suppose.

I was wondering if there is something in the $150 - $250 range that is actually decent? Just for .22 plinking.

Cheers!

I have a nikon rimfire scope that I am happy with (in your price range) Mine is the 3-9x40 with the "BDC" circles. Works perfect for gophering.

Nikon Prostaffs are now very good and clear and their warranty has jumped onto the vortex style no fault warranty for life. Cabelas has em on sale for real good 2 or 3 times a year where a 3-9x40 is $169.

Bushnell legend ultra hd has rainguard and are very nice and clear scopes and now also have jumped into the bandwagon of no fault type warranty.

I had a Redfield Revolution and found the new Nikon Prostaff to be clearer and better resoltion.

I looked at a Vortex Crossfire 2 and it had a significant amount of lense flaring in store.

My pick would be the Nikon on sale. Cant be beat

I just recently purchased a Nikon RimFire2 scope for $200. Wasn't happy with it and exchanged it for a Burris Droptine .22LR. I like it a lot more, and costs $10 more.

I have a $90 Simmons 3-9 on one and it works great.
If you can find a bushnell on sale that would be good too. The one I have was almost $300 though.

Lots of scopes out there for $200 that work great on a .22 just make sure you get an 'AO' version (adjustable objective).. then you can dial the Parallax/focus down to 15-25 yards usually if ever needed.

Bushnell AR22. Clear glass and the bdc actually works. Heard good things about Hawke scopes. Seriously thinking about buying one. Even though I like my Bushnell, I'm in need of more magnification.

I got a cool little Nikon 3-9x40 target EFR prostaff rimfire that has a parallax adjustment. It was around $230 and it has real nice glass and a fine reticle. Devastating on the .17 last weekend on a gopher massacre. That parallax was actually real handy going from 20-150 yards. Ive never beat it off the box of a truck or anything, but for the money, I'm impressed. And I have some fairly high end optics on my other rifles.

Hope that helps.

I have the AR22 on my ruger, not bad for the price. It did take one minor smack though and now it seems there is ring halos around the outside of the sight picture and you can see part of the inside of the scope or some kaleidoscope effect haha...Seems to hold zero though.
