best .22 1911 semi?

Apparently the Colt is made by Walther/Umarex. Since that almost certainly means that it's another Zamac or similar cast alloy you may as well save a bunch of money and go with the GSG. It costs a lot to have that prancing horse on the gun.

If you want the Ferrari of .22 1911's the way to go would be to get a nice 1911 in .45 and then add on a Mavel top end conversion kit. There BASIC Unit 1 kit would likely be around $550 to $600 by the time you get it into Canada. But the accuracy that is guaranteed out of this kit is truly of the highest match grade you could ask for. As in 1 inch groups or less at 50yards.

Get a towel to wipe away the drool and check it out at;

bcrider conversion kit great idea, not really into it being new to the sport, rather have dedicated unit. never knew the colt was of a lesser grade, would you consider the gsg same quality and possibly save me money.

Most of the issues have been worked out with the GSG....do some research, slide finish wears quickly, sights are plastic, recoil buffers wear out, that's about the only gripes left....
Colt would be my pick if I was fussy....but I have a GSG on the way.
