Just to share with you a good Deal.
Was in Wallmart today and what a deal they have going.
Federal Champion 22LR. Value Pack "525 rounds" for $16.97
Although my CZ eats everything I have found these to be very consistant and never a dud, bought 5 box's.

I was in there today and picked up a 500 box of Winchester Xpert 36 gr hollow points for $15.74 (about $0.03 per shot).

Gonna try them in my Squires Bingham and Savage this weekend. :D

I shoot the Federal champion quite a bit as a cheap plinking round. Very rairly, if ever have I had a FTF and I have gone through maybe 5 bricks of the stuff.

Unfortunately, exmeathead I havn't had the same luck with Winchester Xperts. I have found them to be very dirty in the bore/chamber and for making the bolt fact all dirty. The pack I had I was shooting in the cold so maybe this had some bearing on it but I had many FTF, in fact, sometimes in a clip of 5 I would have up to 2 or 3. The gun was somewhat dirty though (do to the ammunition) so that probably didn't help either.

I was in Wally world the other day looking at that same 525 round pack. Used them before also in a Squires and they worked pretty good. Ended up leaving with a 100 round box of Winchester 40gr power Point instead... 5 dollars and change.

Out of only 50 rounds I fired today of Federal Champion, I had 2 duds. I think it might have been the gun however, the firing pin didn't even leave a mark on the brass! They were only rental guns for the range, and no one else had any problems.

How do you guys like the winchester dyna points, bought a brick of those at wally world last week but haven't tried them yet

This federal 22 ammo your talking about was on sale this summer in Alberta and Saskatchewan co-ops for $11.97/ box(525rnds)-----Cowboy

Cowboy --You Freakin Stole it. $11.97 525 rounds WOW
Now that's a real deal I'd never leave the range shooting that stuff up.
I know there's more expensive match stuff out there but for just blasting this Federal stuff rocks

It's always best to call your local Wal*Mart & Canadian Tire stores in the morning when the phone lines are not busy and provide them with their part #'s to find out price and quantities in stock.Usually a large percentage of their inventory particularly rimfire and shotgun shell bulk packs are NOT FOUND ON THE SHELVES BEHIND THE COUNTER but instead out back in the warehouse.Below is the latest part #'s and prices I have compiled for all my CGN Gun nutz friends:

.22LR bulk packs:

Federal Premium Bulk Pack=36 grains copper washed hollow points, blue colored box,quantity:525.
Canadian Tire # 75-1196=$17+tx

Winchester X-Pert 22 hollow points=36 grains copper washed lead & not lubed,white colored box,quantity:500
Canadian Tire # 75-1203-4=$16.00+tx
Wal*Mart # 002089210127=$14.75+tx

Winchester Dynapoints=40 grains copper washed lead & not lubed (with grease),Winchester # WD22LRB (same as Wildcats # WW22LR which come in a box of only 50 rounds),quantity:500.
Wal*Mart # 002089210116=$16.47+tx

Does anyone have the Canadian Tire # for Dynapoints?.Thanks.

And just where is this mythical store located?

:);););););):)

cyclone, while I was floating around in my own little daze I found myself in the White Oaks Mall Wally World and there they were in all their glory on the second shelf from the top of their "secure" ammo cabinet. :D:D:D:D:D:D

I bought the federal "value" pack

My question :

Is it a value if my rifle hates it ?

Maybe my Baby was spoiled by hyper-velocity but she HATED the federal crap ...... constant failed to eject completely during rapid fire ... tried cleaning again and again ... the rounds left a shiety film on my hands

Never again ... I'll pay the extra 2$ for the good stuff : )

I went to a the closest WalMArt to pick up the Federal pack but they don't sell ammo :(

now I have to pay $1 more at CT...TCS will be selling ammo very soon, I wonder what their prices will be like...
