Best .22lr handgun for your buck?

I was wanting a .22lr handgun to start out with but kinda stuck on what to get, whats the most reliable .22 handgun out there without spending the same money as a centerfire handgun. Im not gravitating towards any revolvers either, seem like zero potential for good accuracy when the rear sight isnt adjustable on most revolvers I have seen so far. Or should I skip the rim fire and go straight to 9mm? What I really want is the springfield xd9, what to do, what to do...............
 
Get on the EE and find yourself a used Ruger MKII in whatever flavor you prefer. I bought a Stainless 6-7/8" Target model for $375. Lots of blued ones in various configurations to be had as well. There are deals to be had if you are patient.
 
You can't go wrong with a Ruger or Browning Buckmark.

It was 50-50 between the 2 for me. I went with the Browning in a bull barrel. Quite accurate and a lot of fun to shoot.
 
lol! I just went over this in a different forum. And Most said the GSG1911, Ruger MkI / MkII / MkIII, or Browning Buck Mark.

I went with the Browning Buck Mark Camper UFX. Awesome gun. Only had one Fail to feed about 100 rounds in. But after that, Flawless.

Yup. Mine is the Practical URX. I love it. I bought a Sig 1911. It was OK, but I found the Buckmark more accurate and it just felt better.
 
I have a Beretta Neos with few thousand rounds thru it without major issues.
It looks like people don't really dig this gun but I like it.

The Neos was never on my soon to purchase list, however I rented this for my daughter to shoot at the Calgary Shooting Centre.
She liked it very much, and IMO it's a very ergonomic design combined with light weight. (Yes, I meant to say the "A" word for alloys)

At least I myself have never heard of this Beretta blowing it's slide apart, such as the Walther P22 sometimes does.
For myself I have a Ruger Mk II and a Hammerli at home.

Edit: Ten years back, there was no such thing as the Neos, so I purchased an old Spanish Star Model F for the kids to shoot.

saskboy, if your in Saskatoon and have a wildlife federation range membership I would gladly meet you there and you can try out the browning buckmark. Sorry no ruger to compare it to

I dont have a membership there, was thinking of saskatoon gun works instead, but thanks for the offer! If I buy a used one how long does it take to actually get it once paid for? I havent bought anything of EE yet.
 
Gunworks range is short and expensive for the year. Wildlife federation has a nice facility.

Takes how ever long for the transfer to go through and shipping time. Private and business transfers go through in hours on weekdays in Sask.
