What .44 magnum would be most comfortable to shoot for someone with small hands?

Is the Ruger Bisley Super Blackhawk a good idea or is there something else that will fit better?

Super Blackhawk is quite comfortable to shoot with my medium-ish hands. I know several ladies (one in the 95 lb range) that have shot it comfortably.

The single action style grip seems to accomidate small hands well, as does the fact of not reaching for/pulling a DA trigger.

The extra weight of the hefty single action also helps tame the .44 mag.

Hands down best .44 for small hands/shooters...............Winchester 16" trapper lever gun!!!!
Hm, a few years ago I took my brother-in-law and his wife & children to the rifle range, and introduced them to shooting this same lever rifle with 44 Special handloads. She had a problem with operating the lever, so I showed her a little trick when using this carbine, with smaller and weak hands.
(First keeping the finger away from the trigger!) I instructed her to first #### back the hammer before operating the lever to cycle the action. Hence the hammer is already fully cocked, before dropping the lever to eject the fired case from the rifle. This takes about 90% of the operating pressure required to fully function a Winchester M94 and reloading is a breeze for younger & weaker shooters. Once they got the knack for this, they graduated from single rounds loaded each time into the rifle chamber, to repeating shots from the internal magazine.
Of course this was all caring out under direct supervision.

Something good to know for novice shooters.

The short (4 5/8") Super Blackhawk has a smaller grip than the others in longer barrel lengths.

It has the exact same grip size as the Single Six and (non-super) Blackhawk.

Ruger Redhawk has a small grip. Not sure if that makes it better or not.

The only .44Magnum handgun I've tried. I think my hands are proportionally correct for the rest of me - I'm 6'2", 240lbs, so I'm saying my hands aren't small, and the stock grips seem small to me. But if your hands are small because the rest of you is small, you might be better off with a different gun, as I gather the Redhawk is a bit heavier and bulkier than some.

The original grip on my SBH was in no way shape or form intended for my big hands, so it must have been made for small ones (or made by some guy who really HATES middle fingers). It now wears a large hogue grip, that is very big, so don't buy it thinking you can tame it with that particular grip, as it is a very large one.

Excuse my ignorance but why would anybody want to own a .44 magnum pistol in Canada?:confused::confused:

well, i graduated from the 45 to 44 when i didn't want to p/u brass anymore; you can shoot a 44 just about as cheap as the 38/357s if you RELOAD-and it's a more "adequate " round- if you have a carbine in 38/357 it's adequate up to white-tail deer- the 44 is DOUBLE that- and the redhawk in 5.5 inch is better "balanced" if you know what i mean
