Hi I am getting into reloading and am curious of some of people's successful loads out there. I am looking for other ideas to try out and am looking for a hunting round NOT a target round.

My first load I attempted consisted of:
-175 gr. Nosler Partitioner
-Federal Magnum Match Primer
-60 gr. of H-4831 powder
-OAL 3.35"

It seems to be working ok but am open to some other tries to improve the performance.

I am shooting from a Weatherby Vanguard series 1 rifle. I have read that the throat of weatherbys is longer and could cause some issues there if they are seated too low but the recommended length is 3.29" according to my Lyman book and I am a little over that. Can someone confirm this about weatherbys? Hope to hear from you guys, I don't post much on here and am hoping to get into the forums a little more now.

Thanks a lot. Keep your stick on the ice

They are refering to the weatherby cartridges, to help reduce pressure spikes. Nothing wrong with your current load but give a bit lighter bullet a go to take advantage of that cartridges velocity and trajectory. Lots to choose from, lots of guys will use a premium bullet in the 7 mag because of the higher velocity, they can be a bit hard on cheaper lighter bullets. Welcome to the forum

Don't worry about your rifle having the ridiculously long throat used with the Weatherby cartridges, Howa uses a much more reasonable throat with the 7mmremmag. I would try lighter bullets, to gain a flatter trajectory, with less recoil, and I would consider trying R-22, if you have access to some.

X2.
I bought my 7Mag for speed, not horsepower.
My load is 150 Nosler BT and 68g 7828 with a Win LRM primer for 3260 out of my Rem 798.

160 gr. Nosler Accubonds, CCI 250 primers, and 65.5 gr. H4831SC at 3.290 COAL makes for 2980 fps and <1" groups in my savage 110. This load is over book max, don't go near that high without working up to it and watching for pressure signs. That said, book values seem to grossly under-load the 7RM.

just built some 7mm for a buddies Remington.
150gr CoreLokt over 64.1gr H4350 shot a .461(hole centers not outside edges) 3 shot group @ 100yds of the bench.
the factory Feds he brought with him were all over the place...
