best 870 gunsmith in the west

Hi I have a sometimes jamming problem in my 870 Police bear protection [only happened twice once is too much]where a round comes out of the magazine before it is supposed to.Can anyone tell me who is the best gunsmith to fix this preferably in the west. Thanks. Dan

In BC I’d also say Dlask, out east Tacord or S&J work on a lot of 870’s. Have a look at the shell latches or action bars for excessive wear depending on the age of the gun.

The problem will be your feed latch which is the left latch. It is staked into the inside of the receiver.
If it is an older 870, make sure you have the full flexi-tab upgrade which consists of 3 modified parts; carrier, slide and bolt.
If you have this upgrade, a shell released as you described will not jam the gun up.

Advice that some would charge hundreds for. Another reason why I'll continue to deal with Casey and the fantastic team at Tacord. Stay safe!

As of late Remington has fallen down on the quality of machining. If your spent shells just get stuck and are hard to extract then it could be that the chamber and barrel extension could use some smoothing and polishing.
