Best 870 rifled barrel ?

Hi,

I recently bought a used 12ga, 3inch 870 Wingmaster.

I intend to use it for deer hunting and would like to buy a fully rifled barrel ( with sights ).

What is the best rifled barrel ( brand and length ) ???

I have a 28 inch barrel with several chokes, including a rifled choke.

I would like to have a little bit shorter barrel with adjustable sights.
28 inch is a bit long to hunt in the woods.

Most likely easier to pick up another Rem 870 with a 20" rifled barrel

I am getting this kind of group at 100 meters with Federal TruBall slugs and out of an 870 Police with an 18" smoothbore barrel and ghost ring sights.

Since I discovered how accurate the Federal TruBall slugs are .... my rifled barrel collects dust.

Remington makes 20" barrels with rifle sights for the 870 and with rifling and without.

They also make a cantilever rifled version to mount a scope ....

One more thing to consider: if you go with a rifled barrel .... those rifled slug barrels are very ammo sensitive. You likely have to try a couple of different sabot slugs and to find one that your barrel likes. And those sabot slugs are not cheap. I think I spent around $300.- in ammunition trying to find a sabot that shoots well out of my barrel.
