A friend of mine wants to get into shooting and since in have lots of 9mm i told him all he needs is a gun. He doesn't like glocks so I can't loan him one of those. Anyways I know nothing about chinese copies but they seem popular on here so I though I would ask and see which one is "best". He wants to do his black badge with this and then maybe try ipsc. Thanks

A Norinco m213 9mm may be an inexpensive start but if he wants to compete he will need one that meets the requirements and has a "proven" track record.

Love my NP34, about 1000 rds thru it and no issues. The grip may be a bit short for those with larger hands as it is about 1/2 inch shorter than the full size.

I'd say a CZ-75 or Sig226 Norinco copy if funding right now is very conservative and in a lightly used one for around 300 shipped. I prefer the NP-22(P22) only because I have the Sig, and have read many good reviews on the NP-22. Several times I've even thought about buying the Nork copy just to pound rounds through it instead of bashing the SIG which is not used much and I want to keep in good shape.

If you know the cost of an NP-22 new, plus shipping, plus tax, then another option is watch the EE for a good used pistol. I've seen good Cz-75b's and the like go for close down to $500 shipped, and that puts the "real deal" in the ball park of a new Nork clone shipped to your door. Just some more options to consider. These prices used are not always there for brand name guns, but they do come up occasionally if one would want to check the EE frequently. These new clones are a great value in their own right, but in all honesty, they being 50 to 60% the cost of a new CZ or Sig is not the great value we've come to expect like in the Chinese M-14 at 1/4 to 1/5th or even less the cost of an American M14 clone. I'd be more inclined to save for the real deal be it Sig or CZ even if used.

As to 9mm in a 1911, well,...."sumptin' giddy 'bout a man likes 9mm in a 1911".....................lol.

Np-22... Norinco really have started to get their act together... I know fit and finish aren't always perfect... But I bought the latest version three weeks ago, and boy ... Gotta say it's pretty darn good, 350$....... Unbelievable ...really.!! Good quality mags, much better grip, although I'll probably get a hogue, chrome lined barel( that should last) and it goes bang every time. IMHO Dive in and try one,

Np22

Picked one off a co worker and I was amazed at the quality of it!

If I had to pick a china gun I'd take it hands down, an ive got 3 norinco 1911's
