best action for the 6.5x55 ?

What bigstickpilot said! You can pick up surplus 6.5s there, 70s era BSAs, obscure Italian makes, Huskys, the 6.5 Swede is one of the top rounds across the pond and that is reflected by the stuff that shows up in the Tradex lists. They are a board sponsor and I can say from my own experience that they are great people to deal with!

Thanks, and I have some more questions:
Has anyone used a match barrel on a 38 receiver?
Is it worth it (for Camp Perry maybe), or it's better to start from scratch....... My sin is that I like them in the original configuration....

would a Krieger bbl improve significantly on the stock one? (mine is pristine).

Look at the 63 Model; this was an arsenal reworked model done up for target work. The sights are presets, so you have to pretty well duplicate the spec they were set up for, but the rifles are scarey accurate on a beer budget!

Tradex has an entire category for these.

My question is the Norwegian Krag in 6.5x55 a strong enough action to take 160 grain bullets for Moose/elk ?? Its such a smooth action and so slick. JITC

Provided the PSI isnt above the recommended. I seem to remember 44 000 psi for the Frag actions but you'd better check.
I suspect that before the Swede mausers were surplussed the Krags took plenty of Elk in Scandinavia with heavy bullets.
