best affordable 45 ACP

I have been a long distance shooter for years. I have always admired the run and gun and now getting involved in IDPA and IPSC. What is the best 45 ACP under $1000.00 you can buy?

I am quite sure everyone here wil say CZ 97B or STI Spartan.

I have both a STI Spartan and a CZ97B and you cannot go wrong with either of them to start with.

I think that You can take a look at Springfield Mili-Spec as well.
Smith & Wesson MP 45 may be also an option worth considering.

Just remember the ammo will outcost the gun long before the gun wears out, so don't be shy about spending a bit more to get what you really want.

While a CZ 97B may be a fine .45ACP, you can't shoot it in IDPA because of the full length dust-cover and weight (more than 39 Oz).

Go with the STI Spartan.

There are no decent 45's under a thousand bucks. Like it or not, unless you are only going to plug tin cans the rest of your life, you will eventually have to upgrade. Take your lumps, spend your money and do it right.

Edit: I just googled it and the G21SF in RTF was a special run for the Arkansas police department and there was a little overrun which sold to the public. Must be hard to find.

There are many decent .45's for <1k.

Glock, Sig 220, STI, CZ, heck my Colt combat was just a tick over 1 grand.....
