So... what would be most "effective" in a 10.5" bbl? I hear black hills ammo is in use by various US/etc. units.

Oppinions?

Where can this stuff be had?

For short barrel with that twist:
- Hornady 75gr TAP (5.56 load)
- Hornady 75gr TAP or TAP-PD (.223 load) If you can find these
- Black Hills & Hornady with 75-77gr (.223) (reload component also available)
- Winchester Supreme PowerPoint Plus (.223)
- Winchester Super-X PowerPoint (.223)
- Black Hills & Federal 60gr Nosler Partition (.223) still looking for it around here

I found that 55 gr Win & Fed in my 1-7 7.5" work fine. Adequate accuracy (50 > yards) but my 100 yard target groupings open up considerably. I'll have to bench it to get a more accurate result. As it is right now, I usually fire my 7.5" rapidly from the shoulder with a big sh*t-eatin' grin, admiring the flash from that sweet little barrel  :D

Who carries any of this in Canukistan?

I think milarm has the black hills 75-77 but looks like its out of stock?

I will eventually buy a 11.5 this summer and i am already looking for ammo. My first choice (or option here) is the 64gr and 60gr. These will not fragment but meet the FBI's requirement.

You can find the Winchester at your local Canadian Tire. I placed an order to a local store for the 60gr Nosler.
For 75-76gr, Guess you will have to call: Ellwoods, TSE, Williams and of course Milarm where i bought my 68-69gr for my 16". Great price for ammo! Just place an order and stock. Shoot regular Fed/Win for practice.
