Hi all. This week end i was initiated to CQB competition. It was pretty cool. I used someone else s rifle. It was a VZ 58 with folding stock and is not a CQB rifle at all. So, i'm looking for an AR. Which one do you, AR guy's, suggests me? My budget is 1000$, no Norinco's, open sights, i won't shoot more than 1000 rounds a year, i'm 6foot 2 inches, barrel no shorter than 14.5 inches and able to get it repaired or getting parts if needed.
Very tempted by the Armalite on the EE. Just a little bit expensive. Would that be a good rifle for me?
Thx all.

Just ordered a MP 15 from one of CGN sponsor. Now... Suggestion for a muzzle brake to minimize jump? Is the stock one good enough?

I'd recommend just shooting it stock for now. Get a feel for the rifle first and then see what you need after. The only thing that will make you a better shooter is time behind the gun.

Smith&Wesson M&P 15 sport 2 gets my vote, but I have to disagree with the VZ platform not being good for CQB :p I was using mine this weekend :p

i would recommend buying used.... face it, very few guns are run hard and they are basically as new internals.

if your going to stick with open sight, get an a4 model (detachable carry handle, fixed front sight).... plenty of guns in your price range, even some used colt 6920's
