Best Ar15 style non-restricted rifle(on a budget)?

Hello ,

I have been using a Kel tec SU-16 with AR butt stock and pistol grip which I like. Is there any other alternatives that are non-restricted? Id like to try something new! and that will not break the bank!

you are looking at north of 2k to get anything worth buying. either that or get a something non ARish, like a VZ58 or AR180B (way overpriced), or just tacticool an SKS

Personally I would go with a Tar-21. New or used you will never see that quality of a rifle that cheap again.

As stated not much worth looking at for less than $2000. Save them pennies, sometimes an XCR pops up on the EE for a reasonable price.

ME Too, it's so ridiculous that someone should ask a question like this on a firearms forum. I'm so sick of logging in, purposely clicking on a thread and having read yet alone answer these outrageous questions of what's available outside ones knowledge or to try to help another nutter with a new purchase.... sarcasm ended.

As onetwentyish mentioned the Tav is a bargain right now. Had to basically give my last and final one away with the release of the x95. Fantastic firearm with a build quality far and above that of the SU. XCR also gets high praise in my books even more so than anything from IWI. Not a knock to anything IWI just a personal preference. Anything quality In the NR game is going worth north of 2k regardless.

You will be very happy with the XCR. The trigger is fantastic and the key mod version with light barrel points very well. The factory fast stock is a bit of a let down for such a pricey rifle but is usable and easily swapped out. Grab a couple key mod rail sections if you feel the need for a forward grip or any other tacticool accessories. Caliber conversions are also a major bonus.
