best banana magazines?

For what it's worth, on my first shoot with my 10/22 I picked up 2 Butler Creek mags from Home Hardware and ran them through my rifle. One performed flawlessly, the other wasn't pushing the front of the bullet up to clear the lips and would jam every 5 or so rounds. I tried a couple more times with the same result, marked the mag and returned it to HH. They were good chaps about it and let me exchange it, and I haven't had an issue with the new one.

tl;dr check your rounds for mashed heads because they might not be feeding properly.

Butler creek steel lips have always worked well for me. However, I find they take about a brick each before they start running without jams.

I'm pretty happy with the HC3R mags, when I use them like regular mags. I don't find that using the stripper clip to really work as advertised, I always get rim locked unless I take my time. Stupid Canadian laws, wish we could have BX-25s.

I had the exact same problem with my SR22, asked on the forums for a fix with little results.. Took the gun to Dlask Arms for inspection and found the sloppy Butler Creek mags to the the main issue... overall quality of the SR22 was second as these are not high end guns so there is always play in the action and breech which will always present some jams at tines... especially at tines of rapid fire and more often on the first few rounds of a full clip due to the full spring tension of the mag on those first 3-4 rounds.... I switched to the HC mags below and solved my jamming problems... they fit nice and tight, don't rock in the breech.

Ya the stock mag seems fine. I guess I'll find some of the steel lips. Are they supposed to be such a loose fit?

Try modding your mag release. It's cheap and easy, just YouTube it. If you have any slop in the mag afterwards try shimming your mag for proper feed angle. It's easily done with a piece of cardboard (tab from a .22 box and a wrap of electricians tape) . My HC3R runs flawlessly now. You just need to keep them clean and lube them every once in awhile(stripper clips included ).
