Hey guys I know=no pain/no gain... I get it, but wondering what the best options are for the money? Anything in/around $500?

Looking at a PCC (or similar), would like at least 8X and good enough glass for it to feel like my cruddier 12X scopes. lol

OK with used, won't see allot of use.

thoughts?

Primary Arms if you're OK with their ACCS type reticle.

On a PCC, 8x won't accomplish much that you can't do with 6x (That and the cheaper the glass, the higher the magnification, the crappier they look). The 8x LPVOs get a lot more expensive.

I was running Vortex Strike Eagles in 1-6 and 1-8, I actually sold the 1-8 to pick up a Burris RT-6. They're around your budget, and IMO they look much better than the Vortex.

I have 2 of the Burris RT-6, IMO one of the best value for money. They are a bit heavy though, and the thin battery cap bezel makes taking the cap off kinda tricky. Other than that I am very happy with mine.

I think the 1-8 Strike Eagle is the best value for the money in the market myself and you can definitely find a used one for your budget. Night and day difference than the 1-6 in my experience.

For a real budget option, I really like the Vortex Crossfire 1-4. They regularly got for $200 used and 4x is plenty for 9mm.

That's awesome! Have to shorten the barrel at all to thread it? Love the bayonet too, well done. Below is my farm gun. Took the picture where I'm building my shooting range, but for now still sitting on a milkcrate using the quad as a bench! Got a 2" group with 20+ year old UMC FMJ ammo; I was happy considering. Removed the fixed sights rather permanently, and installed a QD insert in the rear stock. Surefire Scout 640 on the far side.

but I have one of these S6's and it's quite nice for the low price ($150) and comes with 30mm rings.

I agree with a 1-6 being better then 1-8 or 1-10 in cheaper optics. The Constatine 1-8 might be nice given that they also make a 1-10 in that line. Also First and Second focal plane options.

My eyes generally prefer center dots to chevrons.

I bought a Bushnell AR 1-8. The illumination was poor and the reticle started turning off randomly after a few weeks. If illumination matters, spend more money.

Was it easy to warranty? First thing to check is battery contacts and possibly dirty contacts in the switch. The AR series are budget for sure and on par with the cheap Victo-Vector Optics I bought for about $200 taxed and shipped.

I've tried a few lately. Bushnell Prime 1-4 and Elite 4500 weren't as nice as Primary Arms ACSS 1-6. I kept the Prime for a cheapy build. Elite and ACSS were both let go in favor of a Strike Eagle.

I would also check out the Burris RT6, lots of guys sleeping on Burris lately but they are doing a solid job. Fullfield IV and RT6 are great affordable options and the Veracity and XTR scopes are also good value for dollar despite being in a very competitive market segment.

Man it's awesome to see the vectoptics getting love. The S6 is beyond its value for what you pay. I'm out here selling Strike eagle's and bushnell's all while keeping the S6 in and on its forever home.

The quality of even the paragon line by vector optics puts the PA micro prisms let alone the vortex prism's to shame.. Funny when you get them you receive the same "multi-tool" that the Sig's comes with.
