So, I don't know if it is the ammo (bad lot) but I've been using CCI Blazer in my Mark III (4.25" barrel) and it seems that every 4 magazines I get one really weak shot that can barely eject and gets rechambered (I can hear it as being weak - very quiet).

I also have one failure to fire about every 10 magazines.

I've gone through 2000rnds of this stuff and that is the trend.

So, is there anything out there that someone can recommend as being better? THere must be something better that is still available for a decent price.

Thanks.

A number of years ago it looked like the USA was going to stop allowing shipments of ammo to Canada. So I bought a bunch of .22s and shotgun shells. All other handgun ammo I reload.

I bought a bunch of Federal Value Pack .22s in bulk 550 round per box. 36 grain high velocity. It was very reliable and surprisingly very accurate. I tested it in three of my handguns, Ruger Mark II, S&W model 41, and a High Standard model Citation. I tested other ammo at the same time. Some target ammo as well. The Federal Value Pack was as good as the target ammo and better than most of the other cheap stuff. Target was at 20 yards.

I still have some and I wish I had more. The batch I had was reliable and accurate but you can't assume that is the case with every batch.

+1

The best .22lr ammunition I ever used was called Federal Classic or something similar and would come in 100rnd hard plastic containers. I wish they still made that.

Ok, I will do some searching next week to go to something new.

~Cheers

EDIT TO ADD:
I belive the ammunition that I loved might now be the "Federal GameShok" it looks exactly the same except for the title. If anyone know of a source for this in Canada please let me know :)

Give Winchester Dynapoints a try - $13.97 for a box of 500 rounds at your local Walmart store. I have found them to work great in both handguns and rifles, with resulting target scores right up there with some of the target grade ammo.
