I need to replace my compact field binoculars. Some moron borrowed them and ruined the lens coatings by cleaning them improperly.

I'm looking for a very compact pair of 8x25mm binoculars for field work. I don't spend hours glassing at work, just need them for a minute or 2 a couple of times per day.

What would you guys recommend in the below $150 range?

They're going to get wet and dirty so I don't want to plough a fortune into them.

I bought a cheap pair of 10x Bushnell H20 from a gunshow and they are actually not a bad bino. They are heavy but around $100 they do the trick. Mine have been dropped, banged, covered in mud, snow ect.. and are still 100%

Cheers!!

I have a pair of Tasco world class 10x25mm. They are a bit on the heavy side, but pretty durable. I've never dropped them, but I have sat on them. Had them out field hunting geese in the rain (lots of mud and water) with no problems. My only complaint is poor light gathering, but I think you will find that is an issue with most higher power compacts.

I bought a pair of Bushnell explorer's 10X25 at Costco about 3-4 years ago and I've been happy with them. Light and bright and they were only around $60-$70.
