I am considering getting a CZ Shadow in the not too distant future. Can anyone make a recommendation as to where to get one for a good price? Thanks!

Thanks guys - they are about 100 bux cheaper than anywhere else I have seen there. Good find!

On a side note: Do you folks find that they run well bone-stock? No need to buy doodads if I don't need them!

Wouldn't you rather do it yourself? That's around $550 extra, is it worth it? I'm asking, not being sarcastic...

What type of grips? Hammer? Trigger? What if you don't like them?

Just get the basic $739 version, its good to go in IPSC division, certainly not worth the $500+ extra in those add ons.Shoot the gun for awhile first, see what needs to be done or not(perhaps nothing),and then get whats needed. My shadow came with a 3lb SA trigger(doesnt need a trigger job),I purchased a 11lb recoil and 13lb mainspring and nice textured grips from CZ custom, total $105 extra.

Thanks thats what I am thinking anyhoo. Give it a go stock and see if there is anything thing that I want to change and do it at that point.

Any kibbles and bits on the gun that are prone to failure (ie do I need to order spare parts in advance)? I am mostly a glock pistol guy but want to try something different...

Big failure points (if you run it hard): Front FO insert and slide stop/release.

I have personally broken 3 slide stops in the 3 Shadows I have owned. Approx 18k rounds, altogether.

Slide stop seems to be issue at 5k and Front sight can just happen at random. One sec it's there the other.. poof!
