I've never built an AR so when the SLR stripped receivers were announced I had no idea what parts were needed or where to buy in Canada.
Xero posted a list in another thread about what parts are needed to complete the rifle.
Barrel
Muzzle Device (technically optional)
Gas Block
Gas Tube
Handguard
Barrel Nut (usually comes with your handguard of choice) or Delta Ring Assembly
Charging Handle
Bolt Carrier Group (or BCG)
Dust Cover Assembly
Magazine Release
Bolt Catch
Mil-spec Trigger Group
Trigger Guard
Safety Selector
Grip
Buffer Tube
Buffer Tube Locking Plate
Buffer Tube Castle Nut
Buffer and Buffer Spring
Stock
All the various little detents/springs/pins you need for selector/bolt catch/magazine release/gas block. Just get a AR-15 LPK (lower parts kit)

So I thought it would be be great to have one thread where we could post the best deals on these parts sold by CGN vendor's.
Like I said, I'm new to this but I'll repost a lower part kit to start
https://truenortharms.com/products/ar-15-parts-kit-lower
Hopefully this helps other noobs find deals.
Cheers

Good idea! I caved and pre-ordered the receiver set, so I'll be looking for parts to get it going. No rush, obviously, but gotta start somewhere!

Think I got everything sorted?

Barrel from SJ Hardware (###y 18.6" stainless dimpled .223 Wylde match barrel)
Charging handle/Handguard/barrel nut from Aliexpress, LOL (Same handguard as TNA has on their website, but they were out out stock. And same charging handle I'm running on my M&P. It surprisingly doesn't suck.)
Lantac Dragon pillaged from my M&P- I'll put the stock bird cage back on it, have extra crush washers kicking around
BCG/LPK/Buffer assembly/BAD lever from TNA
LaRue tactical R.A.T stock/grip combo from Dlask
Geissele S3G trigger from EE a.little while ago
Optic- ? But that can come later.

Think that's it? Am I missing anything?

Why would anyone body spend $1000 on a receiver set and build it with junk NORINCO components?

The DA556 rifles are excellent beater AR's.
The barrels are extremely accurate. I have one on my cherished M16A1 clone right now and it is excellent.

You may however run into problems with the safety/fire selector with the Norc rifles and putting them into the standard sized AR receivers.
It's been a couple years but if I recall, the Norc selectors are bigger than standard thus the Norc receivers selector hole is bigger than standard AR15 size.

So your Norc selector may not physically fit into your SLR receiver.

I don't own one anymore but the Norinco AR's are excellent rifles. They are built to go the distance. They don't look pretty, that's for sure. But they will keep going long after most people would expect them to fail. They're also dirt cheap.

I have shifted Norinco parts onto a few Aero precision lower receivers. The only part that I had a little problem with was the bolt release spring plunger, they are a few ten thousands oversize for the Aero's.

To my eye all AR-15's are ugly.
