Best deer round for old rem 700 .270?

I recently got an old Remington 700 .270. Approximately 30 years old. I wanna hurry up and get it zeroed for my first deer season this year. What would be the most accurate and effective factory round for this rifle?

Accuracy with factory loads is luck of the draw, but I'd try ordinary Blue-box Federal 130s first.

you would have to go buy a few different brands and types/weights and test them and then use the one with the best group every gun is same different even two of the model heck one could have been made the same day right after yours and like a different load

Hmmm, that's a tough one. I think after careful consideration that just about any factory ammo would be suitable for deer. Just about.

NO ONE can answer this question. You'll have to buy a couple boxes of ammo and figure it out. Every gun has its likes and dislikes. My recommendation? Buy a box each of Rem Core-Lokts, Federal soft points, and Winchester Power Points and have at it.

For factory ammo in any gun I've tried hornady shot the best out of fed, winchester. Hornady superformance shoots just as good as my handloads in my 223 and 30-06.

It's not that complicated. Buy a couple of boxes of whatever you like, and sight her in. You are hunting, not target shooting.
The easiest way to sight in, is to shoot for center target. Note the hole and hold again on center target. Then have a friend adjust wind-age to align with the hole (above or below, depending on location of the hole) and that same friend adjust elevation to where you think it should be. (1-2 inches above the hole) All while holding the rifle very still. it should take one shot for the hole and one to check, you are good to go.
Make sure the pointy end go's in first, and shoot em' in the front half. Have fun and play safe.

With my Savage .270 I find the the Hornady 140gr SST and Federal Premium 150gr are the most accurate.

Almost anything from 130 grains to 150.
Remington Core Lock come in both weights.
Federal blue box and Fusion are good choices but there is nothing wrong with any of the manufactures in the above weight range.
Person preference is one thing and rifle preferences the other.
Buying two or three different boxes will show a rifles preference and the rest is not wasted as it can still be used for practice.
