Best factory 45-70 load for deer ?

Any, 45-70 load will work for deer.
Do you realize that a 170 grain 45-70 load, is a round ball?
Use the load that shoots best in your rifle. Im going to guess that the 350 to 405 loads will be most accurate.
The 300's are fast and shoot flatter, but usually are not as accurate as the 405's

As said, they'll all work on a deer. I would caution however that you stay away from any of the hollowpoints for hunting. They tend to be some of the cheaper offerings and usually shoot OK but can do a lot of damage. If I were going hunting with factory stuff I'd probably go with Hornaday 350gr flat points. :)

Congradulations on your choice jdemora, your going to like your guide gun. I would recommend that you think about taking up reloading down the road though. You can get way more for a lot less as far as ammo goes and the 45-70 is quite easy to load for...
