best factory 7x57 ammo

There is no 'best' factory ammo. You have to try a box of as many brands and bullet weights as you can to find the ammo your rifle shoots, um, best.

Most 7X57 ammo you can buy commercially is going to be loaded down for all the old rifles out there, especially ammo from the North American manufactures. With a stronger action you can use Norma factory ammo but it's pretty pricey. Igman might offer higher velocities too. But this is one of those cartridges it makes the most sense to handload for.

There are three kinds of "best" in big game hunting ammo - accuracy, speed, and bullet performance.
For me, bullet performance is #1 priority as long as accuracy is within 2" or so at 100 yds. Others obsess about shrinking group size by 1/4". Still others think paper ballistics will get the game. Take your pick!

Dave; If you can get a box of Norma 150 grain SP's, you may be impressed with them. They are loaded to Eurospec (read higher velocity) and in any rifle I have used them, they are quite accurate. The Norma bullet works fine for anything your 7x57 will be used for, up to and including moose. Regards, Eagleye.

as to power, i chrono'ed some federal 175 grainers and some igman of the same weight. the igman is over 250 fps faster. but, i can tell you, deer do not like the federal load.
