had to put my best friend and hunting companion down on Friday Nov 14/08
She had a good full life as she was a 15 year old Britt spaniel. Figure she had a stroke as she was fine that evening and messed up bad in the morning.
I know that it was the best and only last decision I could make for her.
I am going to miss her as I think she was the one for me and the family.
It will be hard if not impossible to replace her.

if anybody knows a good spot for a new britt in the spring. it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Sorry to hear that. Our dog was an important family member too and we miss her very much. When we do get another dog I don't want it to be replacement of the previous one. All the best.

As sad as that is to hear,

There's always looking forward to tomorrow with the hope of a new pup.:D
I'm in the same boat.:(

The dog cant be replaced with all the memories of the hunt's you've had, but
rest assured there are future hunts coming up and new adventures with a new best buddy.

Best of luck.....:)

awwwwwwwww poor doggie:(..i hope he went to animal heaven and keeping me ole cat in line..
good on you to want to get another to give a good home to..:D

Sorry to hear about your loss. As hard as it is, the decision to not prolong any suffering is a good one. I've had to make that decision too many times already. Just remember the good life you gave for your friend and how much fun she had with you. Alot of other dogs aren't as lucky to have a great owner like you.
Make sure you let the new one know that it has big shoes to fill.

It's never easy loosing a best friend, I also had to put down my dog 5 years ago due to a stroke. My fondest memory of him was when I was BBQ'ing one day, had a platter of moose burgers just ready to go on the fire and my wife calls me in the house to answer the phone. I put the burgers down on the picnic table and went to take the call. I'm talking to my buddy and as I look out the window, all I see is my dog licking his lips...I look slowly down and see the empty platter. Arrrrrrrrrrrgh there had to be a dozen raw burgers on that damn plate! Oh well, we had a good laugh and ordered a pizza.

Memories are for ever! Enjoy your new dog...
