Best Glock for IPSC ?

If you reload, I've heard you should buy the G22, as downloaded 40 rounds that still make minor are total mouse farts compared to the softest 9mm rounds makeable.

I heard that from one of the greats, though.

If you are buying factory, go G17.

I used to use a G17 but could never do well with it. I have now switched over to the G22s after a stint in Standard and am much happier with the G22. I reload it to about 135-140pf to ensure proper functioning but the recoil is quite "soft". I also still have my standard gun and I love the 40SW cartridge hence my leap to the G22. Honestly, could not be happier with my decision. The only reason I would get a G17 for production is if I did not reload and could not get reloaded ammunition from anyone (I think even Wolf does special batches of downloaded 40SW ? ).

assuming you have no strong preference yourself, go with what the above people are saying: G17 for factory ammo, G22 for custom loaded ammo. Some people have a strong preference for 9mm over .40/.45/etc (like myself), so even if I was shooting in a division where Min/Maj makes a diff, I'd still shoot 9mm. Some people love .40, like a friend of mine who shoot a stock .40 cz-75 in Production, with factory ammo (NOT downloaded), and he loves it - doesn't want 9mm... So, generally, it depends on your particular situation and preferences.

Thanks everybody,
I picked out a Glock G35 in .40 S&W, so I will reload...
Best regards,
Rob

As Musky said, hope you realize this is a Standard gun (G22 is the largest 40SW Glock that you can use in Production).
