I've finally got around to sighting in and zeroing in my M14S that LRB custom made up for me. The scope mount slots are milled right into the M25 forged receiver. 5 shots within the size of a dime with a semi-auto!

The load I finally worked up was 41.5 grains of IMR4895, pushing a 168 grain Sierra HPBT MatchKing. This rifle really likes this load!

Range 40 yards, this corresponds to dead center at 200 yards.

Thanks for looking.

That's an LRB receiver, which has built into it the scope base for the rail you see. You can't use that base on anything other than an LRB.

A little out of my price range but, wow that LRB M25s is a sweet product! I thought that they weren't exportable from the U.S. due to the fact that M25 is also the name of a sniper rifle?

maybe it's beacause it's 6 in the morning, but how does 40yard=200 yard

Sorta like this... but make it with the appropriate .308 load curve and it would probably match up...

This is just a random one to show the idea...

Yesterday me and a buddy took our M305s out on his farm. We set up old 25lb propane tanks at 100, 300 and 500 m. Sitting, with Super X 150 gr ammo I hit the 500 m tank 4 out of 5 times once, and twice hit it 3/5 shots. If I didnt see it I wouldnt have believed it either!!! Just dialled the rear sight to 5 and went for it. Needless to say, both VERY impressed!!!
Shot my 22-250 as well with 50 Barnes VLC bullets, all they did at 500 was put blue streaks on the paint but the 308 penetrated.

Sorry guys-just realized you arent even talking about crappy chicom rifles here!!

Those crappy chicoms are pretty good. I picked up a used one recently on the EE and was really pleased with the accuracy I was getting with iron sights and surplus ammo. At 50 yards the holes almost touch. At 100, I can't see a bulleye worth a darn, so I just centre it on the paper. Still shot a decent group. Pretty happy with it for being a $300 rifle. Having issues with my scoped one though. Expectations are higher for it than what I'm getting. Can't blame the rifle. Any gun can have its snags that need working out.
