What is your experience, best group at 100 or 50 yards with slugs and a cantilever barrel. Just wondering!

Slugs are a category all of its own. My experience is that no two shotguns shoot alike. Its best to spend a day at the range with a dozen boxes of slugs of all different makes and sizes. The ones that give you the best group, go with it and buy lots more. If your shotgun likes them, use them. If you got poor groups, don't use them. There is nothing else to add.

M37 Ithaca 20 gauge, with the factory iron sights. (note 35 and 75 yards only)
Maybe not enough shooting to draw a big conclusion.
But not a bad start I think.
IIRC, a velocity of 1900 fps.

I would have shot more, but @$17 bucks for 5 shots, you know what I mean.

My best group was with a cut down Winchester M-37 with rifle sights firng 1 oz Winchester foster slugs. At 100 yards I could cover the group with my hand. My 590 Mossberg groups 3" Bennekes like that at 50.

I get this part.

My question is to get a feeling about what "good grouping" should be hence I didn't ask what type of gun or ammo guys are using.
