Someone I know came into a pile of cash and asked me this question. They are looking to go to a full-time program in a college, etc.
I don't have direct experience in the trade and my searches seem to lead to a whole lot of ambiguous results.
Just wondering if anyone in the know can help out?
TIA

The only genuine full-time trade-school gunsmithing course of which I am aware is the one at the Colorado School of Trades.

Colorado School of Trades is an accredited institution offering an Associate of Occupational Studies degree specializing in Gunsmithing. Colorado School of Trades is accredited through the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). Founded in 1947, Colorado School of Trades has offered our Gunsmithing Training Program since the very beginning.

I thought about it but never did it, and (now) very much wish I had.

Shortly after WWII P.O. Ackley was instructing at Trinidad State Junior College in Trinidad Colorado. I attended the gunsmithing school there in 1966-67. At that time it was a two year course and no problem for a non US resident to attend. It is still being taught and expanded I believe.

With the recent US laws I don't know if a non US resident can attend. Firearms and ammunition being the problem. Perhaps there is some paperwork available.
