I think the question should be… what 308 bullet fired from a winchester case going at what speed would you need to beat the 85.5 berger going 2900fps out of a 223 rem out to 1000 yards?
I was more talking about what size bullet do you need in 308 to start getting ahead of a 85.5 berger in ftr? There seems to be a misconception out there that every 308 bullet is better than any 223 bullet. Personally I think you have to be shooting a 185 juggernaut or heavier to start making ground.
