best home trap machine?

Hey folks,

I'm looking for a home clay thrower. I used to shoot Sporting at Silver Willow once or twice a week but since relocating south of the province it's too far for me to make it to the club regularly. I do own a basic Champion Wheely bird but looking to upgrade my unit to make home practice more challenging/enjoyable. Budget is $2k at the moment.
Two questions:

Which vendors would folks recommend? The only one I'm aware of is Lawry for higher end machines.
Which model would folks recommend (when versatility, reliability, and ease of repair are considered)?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hard to beat Promatic. The Kestrel model is $1400 US so would fit your budget. Promatic machines are reliable and simple, very little to go wrong. If you have shot at Silver Willow, they use Promatic exclusively. Here is the link.

The clubs that I belong to mostly use Promatic and a friend of mine just purchased their bottom end machine (maybe Kestrel or Merlin) he says it's a good machine but he hasn't put a lot of targets through it yet.
